Traditionally it is taught that we should start Kung Fu training as early as possible and train it for as long as we are able because it pays dividends to our health and ability throughout our entire life. Kung Fu training is a very strong tool for changing the body, mind and strengthening the will.

It is also traditionally taught that the older we are the more our focus will be drawn into the softer side of Tai Chi. As we progress our movements will gradually refine from big and external to smaller more relaxed internal ones. External kung fu training begins to meet and join with the softer and internal side of tai chi the longer we practice and so it is recommended to do both since they both inform and feed into one another.
